Ideally, you want to pack as little as possible because you will have to haul it up and down the mountain while balancing on skis or snowshoes. The items followed by two stars (**) should be divided between the group. The items followed by one star (*) are entirely optional.
A 20 degree REI sleeping bag is what I use. If you are concerned with being cold, look into sleeping bag liners which add extra warmth, pack small, and are light. Make sure you are well hydrated before you start and bring an additional 2 - 3 32oz water bottles to keep you going on the hike up.
